Working over 18 years as a business affairs executive and lawyer for the largest media conglomerates in the world (Viacom, Disney and Time Warner) provided J. Christopher with valuable institutional knowledge and enabled him to be more aligned with the shifting media landscape as he transitioned from traditional media into digital deal-making. While serving as Vice President, Digital Studios, Over-the-Top (OTT) Services and International Co-Productions for Lionsgate, J. Christopher helped to curate and launch Lionsgate's OTT platforms: "Tribeca Shortlist," "Comic Con HQ" and Kevin Hart's "Laugh Out Loud Network" and its digital film studio (Studio L). Packaging shows as an executive producer in the early days of digital furnished J. Christopher with a unique perspective on the new business models and programming strategies emerging in the marketplace. He then leveraged his corporate and entrepreneurial experiences by producing content intended for digital exploitation and re purposing it for off-platform licensing opportunities in domestic and foreign markets (for traditional cable networks like BET and HBO and digital services like Reign). Ultimately, the convergence of media, tech and entertainment motivated J. Christopher to create his own media consulting business (IndustryEsquire.com) and launch a podcast (BrooklynBoardroom.com) focused on the business side of entertainment. J. Christopher, a native of Brooklyn, New York, now resides in Southern California, and does business globally. He is a graduate of Binghamton University, where he received his B.A. in Sociology & Cinematography, and then earned his Juris Doctorate and Master of Science (Film/Television) degrees from Syracuse University. J. Christopher also completed an executive training program at Harvard Business School through a fellowship underwritten by Lifetime Television.
