Christopher Sun

A movie fan since childhood, Christopher Sun (Sun Lap Key, Christopher) was born in the late 60s in Hong Kong. He attained a Master Degree of Arts in Film & TV Fiction in 1998 from the Northern Media School of Sheffield Hallam University, U.K. after working for a decade in some advertising and production companies including Satellite Television Asian Region - Chinese Channel (1991-94, Senior Producer) and Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising Shanghai (1994-96, TV Producer). He then joined Metro Broadcast Corporation (2000-04) as Creative Director and Walt Disney Television International Asia Pacific (2005-07) as Consultant-Creative & Production. Though barely related to the motion picture industry in his early career days, Sun managed to enjoy his amateur filmmaking and won a young director award in the 50th Montecatini International Short Film Festival (1999) with his project "Forgetful Angel". It was not until 2011, however, that the erotic costume drama, "3D Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy", a big wow then and box office champion of the year in spite of mixed reception, marked Sun's debut as a theatrical film director. The movie later won him "Manvention of the Year" in the Guys Choice Awards presented by Spike TV. His works encompass a broad range of repertoire, recently covering adaptations of some popular web fictions. Examples include his latest direction in "Deception of the Novelist" (not yet released), direction & script co-writing in "Imprisoned: Survival Guide for Rich and Prodigal" (2015) produced "Due West 3D - Sex Journey" (2012) and "The Sinking City, Capsule Odyssey"(2017) . Sun, also a THX certified professional video engineer, took part in "Iceman 3D" (2014) as the visual effect producer. Since 2011 Sun has been appointed the Executive Director of China 3D Entertainment Ltd. Among his versatile pursuits, he persists in serving as a part-time course tutor in the Film Academy of the Hong Kong Baptist University as he believes the young filmmakers hold the future for the local industry.
