Megan Alda is a classically trained Canadian actress. Originally attending drama school in Vancouver and earning a diploma for film and television acting, Megan took an interest in Shakespeare and began taking leisure courses offered by The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, receiving a certificate in Shakespeare studies. She would continue to study acting, taking workshops and classes at the Stella Adler Studio of Acting. In Spring of 2020 Megan began working with a community theatre group, Centre Stage Players. She took on the role of producer in addition to playing Rose Mortmain in their theatrical adaptation of 'I Capture The Castle' by Dodie Smith. Outside of acting, one of Megan's first passions was music. From an early age she had a dream of being a singer-songwriter and planned to apply to The Juilliard School BM program, however she ultimately put her musical aspirations aside to pursue theatre and acting. She is a full-lyric soprano with a three octave vocal range and enjoys a variety of genres including pop, soul and opera. She has had vocal training at the British Columbia Conservatory of Music. Megan lives in Vancouver with her daughter (born 2011). She has been a vegetarian for over 20 years and is an avid supporter of Mercy For Animals, an international charity dedicated to ending cruelty to farmed animals. When not working, she enjoys backpacking, impasto painting, video games and travelling.
