Lonzo Nzekwe is a Nigerian/Canadian writer/director. His acclaimed award-winning debut feature film, Anchor Baby was released in 2010. Anchor Baby is a story of a Nigerian illegal immigrant couple in the US who go on a quest to achieve the "American Dream" for their unborn child. The film won Best Film and Best Actress awards at the 2010 Harlem International Film Festival plus thirteen other film festival awards around the world. The film was subsequently released theatrically in Canada, Nigeria, Ghana and the United Kingdom. Anchor Baby is streaming on Netflix. Lonzo's second film, Meet The Parents won the Best Short Film award at the 2016 Africa Movies Academy Awards (AMAA). The film was inspired by the song Meet The Parents in the Blueprint II album by Jay Z. Nzekwe is also a co-founder, former CEO of FEVATV network, the first black-owned 24-hour television network in Canada.
