Brett W. Bachman is an award-winning film editor, best known for his work in independent genre cinema. His films have premiered at renowned international film festivals, such as Sundance, Cannes, TIFF, and SXSW. He is most well known for editing Mandy, starring Nicolas Cage and Andrea Riseborough. Directed by Panos Cosmatos, the film made its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival. It would later win the Saturn Award for Best Independent Film. He has a long-running collaboration with the producers at SpectreVision, collaborating on nine of their partner's feature films, several as an Associate Producer. Recently, this includes the 2019 feature film adaptation of H.P Lovecraft's Color Out of Space. The film marked the return of cult filmmaker Richard Stanley, his first feature film in twenty years. In 2020, his third film with Nicolas Cage, Pig, was acquired for US domestic release by Neon. Bachman found his love for editing while still in high school, directing a series of feature-length documentaries. At twenty-two years old, he was one of the youngest members of his AFI Conservatory class. Beyond focusing on feature films, he also works on commercials for brands and artists such as Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Taco Bell, Under Armour, Staples, BioFreeze, and Mercedes-Benz. He is a member of IATSE Local 700 and is represented by UTA. He lives in Los Angeles.
