Allan Armstrong was born in San Diego, CA on May 14, 1953. His father was a U.S. Marine who fought in the South Pacific and Korea, and his mother was Australian. Allan grew up in Southern California with his two sisters, and earned a Master of Engineering degree from Harvey Mudd College and the Claremont Graduate University in 1976. He married while in college, and after graduation moved to Sonoma County, CA, where he was an electronics engineer for the Hewlett-Packard Company. He was drawn to acting and photography while at HP, and left his engineering career in 1992 to act with the California Shakespeare Theater in Berkeley, CA. While in the Bay Area, Allan also acted with Berkeley Repertory Theatre and other companies. He moved to Seattle, WA in 2002, where he has worked with Seattle Shakespeare Company, Seattle Repertory Theatre, and Book-It Repertory Theater, and acted in and crewed for several independent films.
