Annette Princess Jimerson was born in Chicago, Illinois, Oct 12th 1966, to Jessie Lee Jimerson, a single parent, Annette was raised by her Mom, and her father was not present during her lifetime. Annette grew up poor, but rich with the wealth of a Mother who had faith in God, and also Artistic talents, Jessie Jimerson would later have influence, and discover and nurture her daughter's talent. Annette was a very good student in School, and loved to read and learn, in fact her Mother said that when Annette was going to start kindergarten, Annette wanted to learn about the Countries history and reading so she couched her and helped her learn the sounds of letters and after that Annette took it from there. Before Annette turned 5 years old she was reading fluently all words and she would read from the encyclopedia starting from the A's and her goal was to read the entire book for fun, when Annette started kindergarten, at Christmas Attucks, in Chicago Ill. The teacher soon discovered Annette's ability to read and asked the Principle of the School to advance her 2 years ahead. A few years later, at age 12 years old Annette's Mom moved to Memphis, Tenn. where Annette's ability really begin to flourish, and her talent bloomed with her ability to draw eyes, and the clarity of the eyes amazed her, after her Mother discovered this, she begin buying Annette Art Supplies. After Annette had accumulated several drawings she won a Scholarship that would allow her to go to Memphis State University. The Chairman over the fine Arts department at that time said the minim age requirement was age 16, however, he would make an exception. While living in Memphis Annette took some of her work to be framed at Hazels Frame Shop, in Memphis Tennessee. When the owner of the shop saw some of Annette's work, she was shocked and asked her Mother if Annette could attend Art classes with her and that she would look after her, Mrs. Jimerson agreed and after seeing Annette paint in class she knew that this child was special and sponsored her, buy giving her Art supplies and Framing her work without charge. Afterwards Annette got involved in selling her paintings and drawings in Art fairs, Local Galleries and was hired to paint Portraits on many occasions, at 12 years old. Annette and her Mom then moved to San Diego, California where Annette studied Fine Art at San Diego City College, under Doug Dailard, and Damon Hitchcock, who were thrilled to have Annette as a student. Mr. Hitchcock would often say in class that Annette Jimerson was the most prolific students he had ever seen come through his classroom in the 14 years that he had been a professor. Doug Daliard Chairman of the Fine Arts Department in San Diego, Ca. asked for some of Annette's work to be left behind to make color slides of them for future students., Doug also suggested that Annette sell her work at some of the Local Galleries, and Museums, again advice that Annette took, and sold many paintings and drawings through Art fairs, Galleries and hired to paint portraits. Afterwards, Annette and her Mother moved to Milwaukee Wisconsin where Annette Jimerson was accepted in Milwaukee Art Institute for Fine Art, at age 18, and she sold many painting's along the way, in Seattle,Washington. Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Tulsa, Oklahoma. Memphis, Tennessee. San Diego, California. Little Rock, Arkansas. Altamonte Springs, Florida. Orlando, Florida. Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Reno, Nevada. Jacksonville, Florida. and Albuquerque, New Mexico. Annette P. Jimerson then moved and started into real-estate in Orlando, Florida., where she sold many more paintings, and acquired an Agent by the name of Sally Ann Freeman owner of the Contemperena Art Gallery in Jacksonville, Florida which was known by the locals as one of the toughest Galleries, to get into Mrs. Freeman Loved Annette Jimerson's work and brought some of drawing's for her private collection, and provided her with newspaper coverage and, Art showings at channel 7 and forbs magazine coverage. Then Annette Jimerson moved briefly to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. For more Art Shows and more media Coverage, and The Cedar Rapids Museum of fine Art invited Annette Jimerson to have a Exhibit at their Museum, but required 10-20 paintings, which Annette Jimerson didn't have at that time because she had signed contracts with several Local Galleries in which her work was on display. Annette P. Jimerson has settled in the Foothills of southern California. Where she creates her masterful arts in her own home, and is inspired all the more to paint, and produced many paintings of which she has been able to hold on to, for her own Business and website. What makes Annette Jimerson paintings so unique and different, is the fact that she is not limited to painting only one subject, or terrain, Annette P. Jimerson, enjoys the beauty in everyone, and everything. And she loves to capture that in her work, through detail's and color, Annette has been labeled an American whimsical Artist, by the Weem's Art gallery owners, in Albuquerque, NM. Annette realizes that it takes variety to make the world and interesting place, thus, she loves to paint a variety of subjects from people, (of all colors and backgrounds) to animals and scenes, still life's, and abstracts. Annette Jimerson has sold hundreds of her paintings and drawings during her lifetime. And now and then Annette does writes and does the illustration work for books such as Mr. Cuphead, and The Pretty Red Flower. Annette has her own style and technique of painting, and she uses pencil, and paper, pen and ink, acrylic, oils, mixed media, paper making, and sculptures. Her work is now for sell online, by either reproduction, which is signed numbered and framed.
