Denise Brown

Denise Brown was born in Cheltenham in the UK in 1954 and is the youngest of four children. She has three older brothers. Her parents were Florence, a homemaker, and George Brown, a factory supervisor. She attended Cheltenham Technical High School. Having begun dance classes at the age of nine when a friend encouraged her to take up ballet, she also started to perform in amateur musicals. At the age of sixteen she played the lead in 'Oliver!'. She now lives in the Republic of Ireland where, having spent many years away from the stage, she returned to it by teaching dance both in and out of schools. She only came to film and TV work quite recently with several uncredited appearances before being cast as Countess Markeivicz in Soviet Na hEireann.
