Cindy Meehl

Director
Date of birth : 01/18/1957
City of birth : Jackson, Mississippi, USA

Cindy Meehl founded Cedar Creek Productions, LLC in 2008 specifically to make the documentary BUCK about the legendary Buck Brannaman. Coming from an artistic background of fine art and fashion design in New York City, she felt that the best way to communicate the story of this master horseman with the world would be through film. A first time director, she moved her art from the canvas to the screen and spent two and a half years filming BUCK which received worldwide critical acclaim for its content and delivery, and was shortlisted for the 2011 Academy Awards. Cindy felt passionate about sharing this inspirational story about compassionate horsemanship and how the human spirit can triumph over the worst of circumstances. From footage shot while making the documentary, Cindy then created a three set, seven DVD horse training instructional series titled 7 Clinics with Buck. This completes her mission of helping horses and riders truly understand the techniques that have been taught over the decades by Buck's mentors, Tom Dorrance and Ray Hunt. Fall 2012 Cindy directed a music video "When I Get That Pony Rode" for songwriter and performer Templeton Thompson whose music is featured on 7 Clinics. Cindy is in development of a new documentary project to start shooting in 2013. She lives in Connecticut with her husband, writer Brian Meehl, 4 dogs, 2 horses, 1 bunny and 23 chickens and has two wonderful daughters who are all grown up and living in NYC and MA.
