Miroslav Macala

After graduating with a French Baccalaureate in the Czech Republic, Miroslav boarded a plane to the United States with a very clear goal in his mind- to become an exceptional filmmaker. After completing a dual degree program in Cinema & Photography and Business Administration at Ithaca College, Miroslav continued his odyssey and has recently received his MFA in Film Creative Producing at Columbia University. In the past, Miroslav worked at Barrandov Studios in Prague and for entertainment companies in both Los Angeles and New York City. At Columbia University, Miroslav also coordinated a speaker series featuring guests such as Danny Boyle and Alexander Payne. His body of work as Director and Producer includes numerous short films, which were featured at HollyShorts Film Festival, Brooklyn International Film Festival, Montreal International Black Film Festival and Harlem International Film Festival. Miroslav strives to expose the audience to new environments and perspectives that they may never experience otherwise.
