Raquel graduated from The Academy of Art University with an MFA in Motion Picture and Television Production and an emphasis in Editing and Producing. Two weeks later she was living in Los Angeles where she gained experience working in Hollywood. She interned for both American Idol and The Young and the Restless; worked as a Head Page for CBS Television Studios where she coordinated with production to best designate positions for, lead and manage teams of up to 17 Pages; and was an Audience Coordinator for several dozen game shows, alternative/reality shows, and multi-cam comedy series. One of the highlights of her time at CBS was the six months she spent as an interim Second Assistant to former CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler. Her time working under the President, getting to know the Senior Vice Presidents, their assistants, other staff members and meeting A-List Celebrities was an incredible opportunity and learning experience. While working in television was amazing, Raquel's true passion has always been for filmmaking, so she left television to continue freelancing for independent productions as a Producer, Line Producer, Production Manager, Editor and Colorist. Raquel has worked on over twenty independent productions. She is looking forward to continuing her filmmaking career and also expanding into documentary filmmaking.
