Believe it or not, Sophia LaVonne kicked off her performance career in New York City's subway. Eventually, she was presenting original works fusing acting, dance, and film at UCB Theatre, Stage 48, and in multiple off Broadway shows. Sophia went on to study all three of these art forms at NYU's Gallatin School of Individualized Study. Sophia has landed roles as a solo performer for Baz Luhrmann, Moscow Opera House, Spinnin TV, multiple Lincoln Centre productions, The Apollo Theatre, E! Network's NYFW, and TruTV. She has been featured in multiple commercials on national TV, SNL, and Hulu and choreographed for Nike Industrials, BETs Wild Out Wednesday, TruTV, and Marc Jacobs. Her passion for the arts has allowed her to judge on panels internationally and teach classes at UCLA, NYU, RedBull Events, Nike Events, Broadway Dance Center, Peri Dance, EXPG NY, Millenium Dance Complex, and in over 10 countries. Outside of her acting, directing, and dance work in the industry, you can catch her sharpening her craft as a part of LA's world renown street dance crew "The Lot Original, as a part of NYC based theatre company LoudSol awarded with Fringe Festival's Most Unique Show, and bringing affordable arts education to youth through two non profits.
