Laura Murray was born in Denmark Hill, London and grew up in York where she went to All Saints School. After graduating with a BA (Hons) in French and German from Magdalen College, Oxford University, she trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Her family is Irish; her grandparents were from Connemara, Kilkenny and Leitrim.
