A Los Angeles-based title sequence and motion designer and once a missionary kid, Ben Radatz has over twenty years' experience and dozens of title sequences to his credit. Formally trained as an animator and photographer at Kansas City Art Institute ('94-98), Ben co-founded and is a 20+-year partner at the influential Kansas City-based MK12 Studios, often cited as a cornerstone of the early '00s independent digital animation movement and current title and VFX design mainstay. He has twice judged and paneled the SXSW Title Sequence Design Awards and has spoken about his and MK12's work and key figures in title design at several international film and design conferences including SXSW, ProMax/BDA and SemiPermanent. A '97 recipient of the prestigious Princess Grace Young Filmmaker's Award, Ben has created over a dozen award-winning animated short films both independently and with MK12, premiering at festivals like Sundance, SXSW and Miami Short Film Festival. In 2004, Ben's collaborative short film Overload with NY-based artist Brian Alfred was inducted into the Guggenheim's permanent archives. Ben is best known for his title and motion design contributions to features like Stranger Than Fiction (2006) and Quantum of Solace (2008), and the award-winning documentaries Particle Fever (2013) and Knock Down the House (2019).
