Marcello Maietta is an Italian actor, screenwriter and musician. He started acting as a child, making his professional debut on the stage in "Ritornare a volare" (1998) directed by Ruggero Miti, alongside Giancarlo Giannini. He begins his career as a theatre actor making his debut in 2004 with the show "Group Therapy", based on the film "Ma che colpa noi noi", by Carlo Verdone. During his childhood, he learned how to play the guitar, the drums and the bass. He moved to Rome in 2010 where he gained the admission to the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia and in those years he had the opportunity to work side by side with international film directors and actors, including Daniele Luchetti, Paolo Sorrentino, Giancarlo Giannini, Roberto Faenza, David Warren and Terry Gilliam. In 2010 he made his debut as a cinema actor in the drama "Il figlio più piccolo", written and directed by Pupi Avati. In 2012 he graduated. In the same year he played the role of Ninetto Davoli in "Pasolini, la verità nascosta", directed by Federico Bruno. In these years he also worked in TV shows, such as "Il Commissario Rex 6", "Le mani dentro la città", and "Il Paradiso delle Signore". In April 2018 he took a part in Unpromised Land, directed by Jacek Borcuch & Szczepan Twardoc, alongside Kasia Smutniak and the British actor Vincent Riotta. He is also a singer and author of many of his songs.
