Aviv Tal was born in the deserts of Sinai. He had to leave with his family in 1982, when the Peace Agreement between Israel and Egypt was signed. He spent three years in the army. When he was finished, he traveled Africa and South America. He settled in NYC for a while where he and the producer of "The Maybelline Girls" took the same train at the same station every day. The two never met until 3,000 miles later and a few years later in Los Angeles. It was Aviv's roughness and realism that had him cast as Eli Cohen, the burdened landlord.
