Natasha Fissiak is a Director/Producer with Golden World Films, LLC, which is a film production company based in Houston, Texas. Its primary objective is to produce high quality films for domestic and international audiences. Natasha Fissiak was born in Moscow, Russia. Her father is a high-energy physicist and her mother is a mechanical engineer and a former pianist. Natasha Fissiak grew up in Moscow. When she turned six, she started playing piano and organizing classical concerts and theatrical productions with set designs, costumes, makeup, music, and lighting. Her parent's house was always filled with books. Some of her favorite readings were Dostoevsky's Idiot, The Brothers Karamazov, Chekhov's short stories such as Cherry Orchard, Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita, and Tolstoy's Anna Karenina. Authors' imagination and creation of complex, interesting and real characters has always fascinated her. When Natasha Fissiak turned 14, her father moved from Russia to Dallas, Texas to be a part of Super Collider project. She was actively involved in school theater productions, kept playing piano and winning various music competitions. After school, she obtained a full scholarship to study Piano Performance at the University of Texas and later transferred to Southern Methodist University, where she also threw herself into 'foreign' languages such as French, Spanish and Business, with a concentration in computers. Besides foreign languages and piano performance, she was working on a business degree in computers as well. She learned how to organize groups, prepare a business plan, and respect various bottom lines. As a computer major she became adept at learning new programming languages and software programs, and it has helped her in the beginning of her film career to grasp film and sound editing software such as FinalCut Pro, Color, Motion, SoundTrack Pro to edit her films. After graduation she joined Arthur Anderson later Deloitte & Touche where she spent seven years learning best business practices, meeting clients in industries as varied as telecommunications, oil and gas and medical care. She learned how businesses succeeded or failed based on skill, solid leadership, timing and luck. One great advantage of her job was that she got to travel to cities such as Hanty-Mansysk, Siberia; Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; Paris, France; Anchorage, Alaska; Lafayette, Louisiana; and had time to develop her other passion - photography. Over the next 7 years, she was moving well in the company, but she also kept feeling the pull of pure creative work. She got a video production certificate from Connecticut School of Broadcasting. She also began taking screen writing and film classes and has been immersed in the study of directing, film production, acting, lighting, and cinematography over the next few years. In May 2009, she completed a screenplay "The Only One", a heartfelt story about quest of two lovers separated by WWII. In May 2010, she wrote, produced, directed and edited a short film called The Amulet. The story is set in 15th century England, where a high church official and a young woman meet under life shuttering circumstances to learn a long lost secret. In November 2010, she produced and directed a short film Silent Treatment, a story about Scream, a mute/deaf boy, who escapes an ill-managed orphanage with his friends -- blind Belinda and disabled Will -- to experience a brief moment of freedom. In April 2011, she participated in International 24-Hours film race and as part of this festival co-wrote, produced and directed 4-minutes short film DISSoNANCE, which took 9 awards: audience award, best directing, best cinematography, best score, best sound, best visual FX, best special FX, best set design, and best costume design. In June 2011, she produced, co-wrote and directed a short musical called "Oh, Eddie!" In July 2011, she produced and directed film DISSoNANCE. In May 2014, she completed a full feature documentary Pussy Riot: The Movement, which is the first comprehensive film that tells the full story - from arrest through release from prison and beyond - of the remarkable women who defied a strongman, survived Russian prisons and rallied the world behind them. Synergetic Distribution will release Pussy Riot - The Movement film in 2014, and VMI Worldwide is handling international distribution.
