Sven Peetoom (1993) is an Indonesian-Dutch filmmaker from Rotterdam. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Literature and Film at Leiden University, Sven went to Denmark to attend the European Film College in 2017. There he studied Documentary Directing and after graduating received the Obel Scholarship for promising film students. In 2019 his fiction debut Samoeraai premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), which visited more than 20 festivals worldwide after which it got picked up by VOD platform Cinetree and ShortsTV. In that year he also won the Filmkick and the "Slag om de Schelde Pitch", with which he made the films Fietsvakantie and The Water May Rise. In 2020 he released Fietsvakantie and The Water May Rise and published his first web series Maus.
