Hailing from the small farm town of Inwood, WV, Nick Tabidze is a first generation Georgian-American with an avid passion for the arts. Growing up, Nick was actively involved in his high school's show choir and theatre programs where he had his first taste of directing. Although he pursued a degree in Biology at West Virginia University with an intent to apply to med school, he couldn't help but find himself working and expressing himself in creative capacities across campus. Working with collaborator and long time friend Afsheen Misaghi, Nick helped create WVU Up All Night Live, a theatre organization that worked to cast diverse and non-theatre students in productions that addressed issues of race, gender inequality, stereotypes, and more. It was Campus Movie Fest however, that ignited Nick's passion for filmmaking: directing, producing, writing, shooting, editing, and even acting in several award winning short films, two of which - A Short Film and Before I Know - premiered at the Cannes Film Festival. It was Nick's continued success that took him down the path of a story-teller. To further his understanding, Nick pursued a Masters in Journalism at WVU with a focus on documentary filmmaking and innovative storytelling in AR/VR/360. During this time, Nick honed in his focus on all aspects of filmmaking and even started RAPID, an organization that introduced and explored AR/VR/360 technology and worked alongside academic courses to produce content for West Virginia nonprofits. Over the course of his academic career, Nick delved deeper into the minute intricacies of filmmaking but found that experience and knowledge was limited. After his second Cannes Film Festival premiere, Nick decided to take a leap and move to the increasingly popular filmmaking city of Atlanta. It was in Atlanta that Nick began an internship at RiTE Media Group, a filmmaking collaborative that works to express and lift the unseen while bridging the divide in the social/cultural climate. Grinding his heart out, Nick was one of few to finish his internship early and immediately began working as the Intern Director and Promotions Director for RiTE while also directing music videos for artists such as Chavis Flagg and Lil Skies, the former whose video "Havin My Way" directed by Nick has recently reached 20 million plus views. In his spare time, Nick works with SCAD Atlanta students, acting and fulfilling the role of Director of Photography.
