JJ Stomp aka Sonny Phoumy Syonesa was born in the small town of Bueng Kang, Salavan - Province, LAOS. He started learning Muay Lao Boolan "Zang Seek Mai" since he was young age. He came to America in 1980, and completed high school and graduated from colleges in Minnesota. JJ Stomp also has trained several martial art styles. For many decades he has focused on Muay Lao Boolan "Zang Seek Mai" or Elephant Stomp. Zang Seek Mai has similar techniques to Muay Thai Boran, and Bokator. Zang Seek Mai works a lot with your feet and incorporates a lot of stomping techniques. JJ Stomp went back to his home town in late 2000th to pay his respect to his teacher; Grandmaster Sengtavanh, who had passed away couple years after JJ Stomp left the country. JJ Stomp also met another Grandmaster "Kamanad" in Vientiane. For JJ Stomp, it is amazing to know there are a few Zang Seek Mai masters and Grandmasters out there in the world and he hopes someday he will meet some of them. JJ Stomp is a business man, martial artist, film director, producer, writer, stunt man and actor. He has written two novels; Elephant Stomp and Asian Assassin which are out on Amazon, and other online bookstores around the world. The Elephant Stomp novel is the most important to him, as it is dedicated to his martial arts style and also dedicated to his wife Jenny B. Syonesa who passed away in a house fire on July 28, 2012. JJ Stomp has coming back very strong since 2014, he has won the Jury Award; The Best Martial Arts Feature Film Of The Year and Oscar Award; The Best Love Story Feature Film on his current released film: John Kincaid Unleashed. There will be mores to come for JJ Stomp, and he's firing up in Hollywood. JJ Stomp has been inducted to many martial arts hall of fame including the World Wide Martial Arts Council, Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors, USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Masters Hall of Fame, Martial Arts History Museum , All-Pro Tae Kwon Do Hall of Fame, Masters of Martial Arts Hall of Fame, Legends Of The Martial Arts Hall Of Fame, Munich Hall Of Fame, Kuroshi-Do Systems Hall of Honors, the Elite Black Belt Hall Of Fame and many mores.
