Austin Ebert is an American film editor and actor from Kansas City. He is a graduate from Columbia College Chicago where he trained as an actor, location sound recordist and post-production editor. He has performed in a number of plays including Love and Information by Carol Churchhill, U.S. Drag by Gina Gionfriddo, and The Reverie by Tom Crawshaw. Austin has also performed on camera in Home Cooked (2016), Lane and the Mermaid (2017), and Win the Day, Roko Rockingson! Austin was a Special Project Assistant to Regina Taylor, developing a short film and editing narrative content to be played alongside Regina Taylor's play, Stop. Reset. at the Goodman Theater in Chicago. Following his work at The Goodman, Austin focused on film production. He has worked in the sound department primarily as a boom op, and worked as the lead editor for a number of short films including Lost and Found (2018), Song of the Soirsa (2018), and Rosie (2019). Austin graduated from Columbia with a BA in Acting and a concentration in Post-Production Editing. Austin now resides near Greensboro, NC where he works as a freelance editor, boom op and sound recordist.
