Sara DelaHaya was born in Panama City, Florida, to military parents. Before she finished kindergarten, Sara had lived in Anchorage, Alaska, and then Bossier City, Louisiana, where her parents retired. Sara considers Bossier City her hometown. It was obvious that Sara had a vivid imagination and a love of the arts from a young age. She began training in classical ballet at age four and was in the Gifted & Talented academic program in school. Her first onscreen performance was in 2004 when she was cast as "Clara" in The Nutcracker. Sara attended Louisiana State University and moved to Los Angeles after graduation, where she began her professional acting career. Sara wrote, produced and acted in Emma & Lou in 2017, and continues to work to create more work for women, both on and off camera.
