Ganeesh Genus is an award-winning filmmaker from West Palm Beach, Florida who mixes real with surreal, to accurately depict the world around him. Earning a Bachelor's degree in Television and Film Production from St. John's University, and his MFA from The City College of New York, Ganeesh's work has been screened across the U.S in New York, Los Angeles, and Atlanta, and abroad in China, Nigeria, Poland, England and Spain. Through his inspiring work that showcases the everyday trials of Black millennials, Ganeesh has received multiple awards including being named an Honorary State Representative in Indiana. Recently, Ganeesh wrapped up production for a documentary called MAY DAY ON THE GREEN that focuses on the trial of Bobby Seale and the New Haven chapter of the Black Panther Party where he served as producer and editor. He also completed his third self-written and directed short film, KIDS DON'T RIDE BIKES ANYMORE, which has been selected for sixteen film festivals to date. KIDS DON'T RIDE BIKES ANYMORE follows a young black couple in Queens, and explores being lower middle class and possibly expecting in a soon to be gentrified borough.
