Anil Mehra graduated from University for the Creative Arts; one of the most competitive and prestigious film schools in the UK. After achieving his BA (Hons) in Film Production, Anil went on to working his way up from a Runner, to a Location Marshal and now a Third Assistant Director. He has had the privilege to work on the same sets as Steven Spielberg for Ready Player One, Tom Cruise for Mission: Impossible - Fallout and The Russo Brothers for Avengers: Infinity War during his tenure as a Location Marshal. Most recently, it has been the BBC soap Doctors where Anil has been more than capable of fulfilling his role as a Third Assistant Director. Under the pressure of shooting on average 12 to 18 pages of script a day, Anil is amongst many others at the very backbone of the production, providing assistance to all departments as and when needed on set. Anil has passion for telling stories of the common person, the person who perhaps may just walk past you when walking down the street. Anil feels he is one of these people; a common person with many stories to tell of life experiences: whether good or bad in nature. The aim from the beginning has always been the same: to create films about everyday life. Anil has set himself the one and only goal of becoming an established Director, and has recently wrapped on his third short film titled 'Reality' in pursuit of this. Proud to be born in Birmingham UK, Anil hopes to showcase and highlight the immense talent and quality that the creative people of Birmingham can bring to the Film and TV industry. Increasingly as Birmingham gains more traction within the UK as one of the hotspots for many productions all over the world, Anil aims to be part of this movement that brings Birmingham's creativity to light. In early life, Anil temporarily worked as a door-to-door sales agent for national charities seeking donations. He then worked for Royal Mail in their distribution centre as a parcel sorter for two years before becoming a permanent call centre agent updating business directories. He also freelanced in the Film and TV industry during this time on TV entertainment shows such as Britain's Got Talent, Dickinson's Real Deal and The Voice. In his spare time, he enjoys to travel, catch up on binge-worthy TV series and films, and playing sports such as Football, Tennis or Cricket.
