Mia Carvalho

Started her studies in 2010 with the Film and Video course at Artistic College António Arroio (Lisbon, PT), following by a year at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema (Lisbon, PT). In 2015, she enrolled in the course Film BA Honours at University of Westminster (London, UK). Mostly experienced in short films she also has a background in documentary, television, music videos, features, commercials and theatre plays. These projects were either for university projects, corporations or institutions. Her experience jumps around all the departments, a product of a desire to understand creatively and technically the importance of each one. Besides being experienced in Producing, ADing, Cinematography, Sound, Editing, Locations, Art Department and Running, her main focus is Directing and Script Supervising. Both crafts have proven to her to supplement each other in terms of skills, learning processes and techniques. With 13 projects directed behind her, gradually her language as a director slides into the veils of the neo-noir and experimental cinema.
