Gayiel Von was a Renaissance Woman. She loved singing/acting for her supper for more than 40 years. Born and raised in Sacramento, Gayiel moved to Los Angeles in the late '70's to pursue the 'dream'. Her dream was to learn how to become an Entertainer, from the best. She sang with Nancy Wilson, was accompanied by Michael Feinstein, sang back-up for Barbra Streisand's West Coast "Timeless Tour", sang Gospel with Ben Vereen, played a weekly game of poker with George Carlin, worked with Bob Hope, Milton Berle, Jackie Mason, Red Buttons and the Ink Spots . Forbes Magazine featured an article on the status of Cabaret and suggested a revival was in the air. Gayiel was named the number 1 West Coast Cabaret Artist. (Andrea Marcovicchi represented the East Coast) Miss Von was a Sacramento Magazine's BEST winner for live Cabaret. She was voted "Best One Woman Show" by the Palm Desert Theatre Guild for the entire Los Angeles area. For several years she was the headline act at The Rose Tattoo in Los Angeles. Re-located back in her hometown, Gayiel sang with her stellar Musical Conductor of more than 16 years, Jim Jordan. She was a Performance Coach and remained dedicated to the Preservation of Live Performance! Her weekly Cabaret continues as "Gayiel Von's Legacy Cabaret" featuring the finest vocal talent in Sacramento and the Bay Area.
