Simon Straub is a German writer and director. After making short films with friends and acting in several theater productions in school, Simon went on to study acting in 2008. He earned a degree and is a certified acting coach and has worked for two years as an acting teacher at his former school. He then switched to working behind the camera, gaining experience in every position of film production. He directed several short films, produced image films for two state schools and worked as an editor on two music videos of singer/songwriter Vanessa Tuna. In 2014 he wrote, produced and directed his first feature film "Decker", which was released in December of 2015 to a small number of cinemas. In 2018 his second feature film "A Bad Day" ("Ein mieser Tag") was released on VOD. As of 2019 he is a member of BVR/DGG.
