Brent Walker

Brent Walker, PhD: Brent Walker is the Associate Athletic Director for Championship Performance and Co-Director of Success Through Well-Being at Columbia University in the City of New York. Success Through Well-Being is an initiative designed to provide holistic support to student-athletes through academic tutoring, career development, mental training, leadership, mental health, sports nutrition, and analytics. In his role, Walker directs all mental preparation and oversees leadership, mental health, sports nutrition, and analytics within the department. Walker is a Past President and Fellow of the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP), the largest sport psychology organization in the world with over 2,300 members representing 57 countries. He previously served as the AASP strategic liaison to the National Basketball Retired Players Association, connecting former professional players to AASP professionals. Walker completed his undergraduate education at Bradley University (1994), where he played baseball and basketball. He has a master's degree with an emphasis in sport psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1997) and a doctorate with an emphasis in sport psychology from the University of Illinois (2002). He recently completed his master's degree in mental health counseling from Teacher's College, Columbia University (1998).
