Devon E Betton is a self-taught writer/director out of Linden Projects in East New York Brooklyn. His interest in film came about when he saw "Juice," directed by Ernest R. Dickerson and written by Dickerson and Gerard Brown. He thought to himself, "that was a great movie, I think I can make an inspiring film like that." However, it was years later when he finally took up a Canon 7D and started his dream. "Writing and directing my own films is a passion of mine," he describes as he smiles and quickly adds, "though it's tough work when a budget is small." Devon also self-published a novel in 2017 entitled "Wrath." This thriller was inspired by his favorite movie "Se7en" directed by David Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker. His book follows a detective in search of his family after his wife suddenly disappears without a trace. Yet, in the midst of his search he finds himself in the middle of a case involving a twisted serial murderer. Currently, he is working on a show titled "The Color of Love" and also has a feature film in the works for this upcoming summer 2019 titled "Me, Them, Us." The film takes an in-depth look at different members of society and their take on racism.
