Michael Ashley is a professional IFBB bodybuilder. He started to train bodybuilding at a young age. At the age of 19 he performed at the first serious tournament "Mr. America Pro", taking the third place among juniors. After this victory, Mike Ashley has been improving his body for four years, gaining experience, studying the bodybuilding technique and changing himself quite seriously. In 1982, immediately followed 2 wins: the tournament "Mr. East Coast" light heavyweight, as well as in the absolute category, and at the tournament "Natural Mr. America" in the middleweight and absolute. In 1984, Ashley began to think about professional IFBB card. He took part in the tournament "Nationals", where the winner receives the status of a professional. But here Mike takes only the ninth place and decides to take two years for serious preparation. In 1986, Mike Ashley again tries himself on "Nationals", where he takes second place, losing to Gary Strydom. But in the same year he submits the first place in the light heavyweight category at the prestigious "World Amateur Champioship", held under the auspices of the IFBB. This victory brought Mike a long-awaited professional card. From that moment began professional career of Mike Ashley. In 1987 he took part in four Pro tournaments. Mike won the "Detroit Pro" championship, took second place on the "Night of the Champions" show, this time leaving behind Gary Strydom, and got into the top ten at Olympia. In 1988, Mike Ashley made a personal record in the number of appearances - he took part in nine professional tournaments, but did not win in any of them, on Olympia his result is also not impressive - 14th place. Feeling dissatisfied with these results, Mike decided to take a break and tackle the elimination of his weaknesses. After two years of preparation, in 1990, Ashley returned to the competition platform of tournaments such as "Ironman Pro", "Pittsburgh Pro" and took there the second place. On "Arnold Classic" he came out with a 3 percent fat content. The title of the winner and 60 thousand dollars went to Mike Ashley. This victory was the height of his career. From 1990 to 1994, Mike Ashley took part in 10 more shows, but without much success. Then he decides to leave the competitive bodybuilding.
