Athlete Erwin Huber was born on April 5, 1907 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Huber placed fifteenth in the decathlon at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics and finished eighth in the same event at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. Moreover, Erwin won his only German title in the decathlon in 1935 as well as placed second in the decathlon in both 1932 and 1936. Huber was also an educated sports teacher who served as a lecturer in the Warttemberg Association of Athletes Federation from 1934 to 1935 and published a text book in 1941. In addition, Erwin coached the modern pentathletes for the 1972 Olympic Games. Huber died at age 96 on May 23, 2003 in Munich, Germany. His son Horst was a national level sprinter in the 1950's.
