Philip Robert Brinson grew up working in the oil field and on a ranch in rural central Texas. He attended Texas A&M University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a minor in Psychology. He worked his way through law school in hospitality until he received his law degree in 1993. Initially, Mr. Brinson's practice was primarily in the area of hospitality and commercial litigation, but segued into entertainment and intellectual property where he maintains his focus today. He an experienced trial lawyer and negotiator who possesses unique skills and experience that have made him not only a trusted advocate for and counselor to his clients, but also a formidable adversary. Mr. Brinson has extensive experience in a variety of practice areas, including entertainment, copyright infringement, hospitality, professional liability, and employment, in addition to business transaction and commercial litigation. Mr. Brinson has litigation experience on both sides of the docket in handling infringement actions in copyright and trademark actions in the entertainment and hospitality industries, including matters involving the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and likeness misappropriation claims under copyright preemption principles. He is also a producer on several completed and pending film projects, in addition to his work as a legal adviser for music festivals. Mr. Brinson is the Practice Group Lead for at his firm, Gordon & Rees, for the Entertainment and Recreation Law and Cannabis, CBD, and Hemp Law practice groups. His representation has included Patti LaBelle, Experience Hendrix, Don Mischer Productions, Billboard, and many others. He spends a substantial amount of time traveling between his offices in Houston, Austin, Nashville, and Los Angeles, when he is not working on his ranch, Bad PR Ranch, in Central Texas.
