Nele Vandeginste

Nele Vandeginste was born in Antwerp, Belgium, to an Ivorian mother and Belgian father. She lived in Belgium for most of her childhood (she also lived in Brazil for about a year and a half), but when she was 2 weeks shy of turning 13, she, her mother, and her sister moved to the United States. Within a year after her arrival she had become fluent in English, and the year after that she had almost completely lost her accent. During high school, Vandeginste was involved in many clubs and activities. She joined the Debate and Speech team where she chose to do extemporaneous speaking, dramatic interpretation, and humorous interpretation. She performed in the color guard of the Harry S. Truman High School marching band. She was part of the Truman Show Stoppers, a show choir club. She was featured in the pilot of Spring Awakening performed by her school. Additionally, she was also in Reading Olympics, Track and Field, French Club, and V.O.I.C.E, a club which celebrated cultural diversity. During her Senior year in high school, she received the Speech Award, French Award, and Creative Writing Award. In June of 2014, she graduated from Harry S. Truman High School in Pennsylvania, and in May of 2016, she received her Associates of Arts degree With Distinction at Estrella Mountain Community College in Arizona, where she was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She will graduate from Arizona State University with a BS in Psychology, and yet is still actively pursuing an acting career. Vandeginste is best known for her roles as Sandy in "Bring On The Rain" directed by C. Robert Tatum and Julia in "Silk Road", which will be featured on A&E and BBC.
