Deondra Jamaine Edwards was born on November 13, 1990, in St. Louis, Missouri. As a toddler, he floated from State to State due to his father being in the army. Both of his parents Deondra and Hope Edwards were high school dropouts but made sure to provide the best for Deondra and his younger brother. His journey as a storyteller began at the tender age of 7yrs old when he and his brother would play with action figures. He grew up constantly creating story-lines and character arcs for each toy and even created comic books to express his lucrative imagination. Deondra played with action figures until his 9th grade year of high school and the transitioned from toys to camera work. In 2013, after bouncing from college to college, he transferred to Virginia State University where he realized that he wanted to be a filmmaker. He majored in mass communication with a concentration in television. With his short 2yr tenure there, he was able to work on several short films, promo videos, commercial, and the documentary of the Jazz legend, Plunky in Plunky: Never Too Late. He has also participated in the Adrenaline Film Project at the Virginia Film Festival and was able to be runner-up for the audience award after his first year attending. "I don't create movies for money, I do it to express all of the many personalities that lay dormant within myself that want their voice to be heard; I am simply the vessel."- Deondra J. Edwards
