Yazan Al Assadi is a Syrian film director and producer, born on 1991 in Damascus. Since his early childhood, he was fascinated by the film making industry, he would spend his time watching movies rather than watching cartoons and playing games. He enrolled in a summer camp where his acting talent appeared at age five. On 2005, Yazan had his first role in the famous Syrian TV series "Boka'at Dawo" (Spot light), followed by some small roles in the Syrian TV, while studying business management and marketing. At the same time, he started to follow his passion and make his own films and videos. Yazan joined the cinema club in the university and produced his first film "Na'am, Walaken" (Yes, But) that was screened in the biggest theatre in the Syrian universities. He also did some commercials for the Syrian TV, and a short film "Finjan Al-Ward" (Cup of Roses) with the Syrian Cinema Organization that was screened in several film festivals. When Yazan was determined to take his passion to the next level, he moved to Malaysia to pursue his academic study in Limkokowing University and gained his bachelor's degree in Art, Film, and TV. This enriched the young man's creativity and mind set by getting to know a new vibrant culture and different cinematic styles in the university that is famous for its multi-culture and diversity of students. As a director, Yazan so far has worked on 38 projects and directed 14 of them. He is best known for his film "Silou: A Tale of an Orang Asli" that was screened in more than 20 countries and awarded in more than 12 international film festivals and nominated for many more. His short movie "Paradise is here" won an award in the United States. Also directed "Wasted", "One Day", "Be who you are", "the girl with glass of wine" He also was part of many films as an executive producer/director: "Identity-The Butterfly Effect", "War of Roses", "Paradox", "Zeina", "PSYCHE", "My Shadow and I", "The Forgotten" and many more.
