Denita was raised on a ranch in the most frontier area of New Mexico. She was raised as an only child with a very shy, introverted mother. Her mother always told her she was going to be an actress as she'd leap on furniture singing the entire Fleetwood Mac Rumors album into a hair brush. It was always a mystery to Denita's mother how she produced this extroverted child. Unfortunately, film was not a reality in New Mexico when Denita was a child. She was able to participate in a few plays in high school, marching band, cheerleading, a very short stint of basketball, track, and the school's photographer for the newspaper and yearbook. In college, Denita continued to march in marching band and joined Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She worked during the summers for the Forest Service at a fire base in the Gila National Forest. She graduated from New Mexico State University with a nursing degree, a Bachelor's of Human and Community Services, and will be graduating with a Masters in Public Health in May 2018. After Denita's mother passed away in September 2015 at the age of 69, Denita and her husband met one of the casting director's from Longmire. It was truly serendipity. From that point on, film has become an addiction. After several great experiences in background on numerous TV programs and featured films, stand-in roles, photo doubles, etc., Denita became a Master Chubbuck student and decided to pursue more and more in the film industry. She has definitely paid lots of dues as background casting, a Scripty Supervisor, an Executive Producer, and Associate Producer, a production assistant, set props and design, crafty, AD, and steps in as the occasional operator of B camera. Denita has found an absolute passion for acting and is eager to land those first big roles. Here is to a profession that encourages emotional expression of every kind. What a blessing to be in such an industry!!
