Filiz Rezvan was born in London, England and has been living in California since 2003. Originally she graduated as an Art Student but later on in life studied for a BA Hons in Humanities & Media at Birkbeck College, University of London, as well as studying Film, Narrative and Genre at the British Film Institute in London, graduating with a distinction in Film Screenwriting in 2003. Upon moving to the US, she immersed herself in the commercial photography world and worked for some of the top photographers in the US, becoming a producer for still and video and then rediscovering her passion for film, she formed a production company with Roman Prudkin and started writing again. Her first success was writing and producing Rebel in Rising (2017), which won many awards, including best story and then Lakota - State of Mind (2017) a moving short film documentary on Standing Rock and recently Lost Love (2019) which she wrote, produced and directed has won her awards for Best Story, Best Short Film, Best Female Director to Best Editing.
