Tara Clance is an American actress and singer. She was born and raised in Calhoun, Georgia. She received two bachelor degrees from Belmont University in international politics and Asian studies. After graduation, she received a Chinese government scholarship to pursue her master's degree at Fudan University in Shanghai, China. During her college years, she started acting in commercials, including a national campaign for IKEA, an international mobile commercial for Techno Camon, and a tourism promo by BBC World. Her first national television appearance was on Mango TV's hit show "Come Sing with Me", singing alongside Chinese-Malaysian singer Gary Chaw. Gaining a lot of notoriety for her vocal performance, she was recruited for six other Chinese TV competitions. Soon after her television debut, she landed her first speaking role in a web series called "Shanghai Dream", playing the role of an American who moved to China to follow her dreams. After graduation, Tara started her professional acting career by landing roles in numerous film and TV productions, displaying her Chinese language skills. She is established in China and has starred in the hit TV show Wait in Beijing, alongside Chinese celebrity and actor Li YiFeng.
