Ronald Mercado was born and raised on the island of Puerto Rico. His love of the arts began as a child while performing in musicals. He continued his exposure by participating in theatre productions at his local high school, Ramey High, in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. He showed his versatility during these years by playing roles that ranged from a king to an old lady. Ronald joined the US Air Force a year after high school. He served for over 20 years in the medical field and then as a training curriculum manager, but never lost his passion for film. Knowing he wanted to continue working in the film industry, Ronald reengaged with the film community once he retired to San Antonio, Texas. Ronald has received his Production Assistant certification and has worked his way up to Assistant Director, he has even directed a couple of films. Ronald eagerly learned and worked in the G&E, set production and camera departments. He has received stunt training and has worked as a stunt coordinator. Ronald has worked in different types of films with varying budgets. He is recently concentrating his efforts on low budget independent films.
