Paul Odgren grew up in central Massachusetts, he works on narrative and documentary independent productions there and abroad. Paul's newest comedy short film Honest Cocktail is an official selection of the 2022 HollyShorts Film Festival (director, co-writer, producer, editor). His previous two short films First Step (2020) and Concession (2018) screened at the HollyShorts Film Festival as part of their Bitpix program, along with other festivals around the world. Paul worked as producer, cinematographer, and more on a documentary film directed by Sundance Award-winning filmmaker Jesse Epstein, which they successfully crowdfunded to bring Emmy-nominated editor Malcolm Pullinger on board for post-production. He worked as producer, cinematographer, co-editor, and more on the award-winning feature film The Lost Footage of Leah Sullivan (2018) which screened at film festivals in the U.S. and internationally, winning Best Narrative Feature at two of them. When he was 21 he cut a music video in his bedroom from found footage on YouTube for a friend's unsigned band, which made it to SPIN's Top 20 Music Videos of 2010, alongside videos by Lady Gaga, Kanye West, and an Arcade Fire music video directed by Spike Jonze. He was multimedia director of the Heifetz Institute for two summers, one of the top classical music institutes in the world. Paul was a short list finalist in one of America's leading literary competitions for a piece he wrote when he was 19 (the William Faulkner- William Wisdom Creative Writing Competition). He studied astrophysics for two years before leaving undergrad. He's a jazz pianist and a fan of Scotch whisky.
