Amilcar Salatti

Self-taught scriptwriter. He has worked as a writer on television since 2007, being the creator and scriptwriter of many projects, such as police series, U.N.O (2014-2016); musicals, S.O.S Academia (2013) and juveniles, Zoológico (2016). He was awarded in the Cine Plaza Contest, 2005 in unpublished script for Que mal día, por Dios. He has written more than 20 TV movies. Two of them, Extravíos (2011) and Sacrificio (2015), won the contest of the National Union of Cuban Writers and Artists in the category of Best Screenplay for Television. Screenwriter of the film Esteban (2016) awarded at the Film Festival of Huelva, Latino in Chicago, Junior in Stockholm and worthy of a Platinum Award in the 2017 edition. Author of the film Inocencia, winner of the Audience Award, Signis Award and Special Award of the Jury at the 40th Havana Film Festival, also selected as the best film of the year in Cuba and awarded by the UNEAC in the category of Best Film Script in 2019. His projects El Último and Conejo Negro were selected for the 16 and 17 Ibero-American Course of Development of Cinematographic Projects, respectively. Winner, in 2018, with the script AM-PM of the Julio Alejandro SGAE Contest and in 2019 of the Unpublished Script Contest of the Gibara International Film Festival with El Último. More recently, in 2020, he was First Prize of the Microstory Contest for Cinema / Havana with his Microstory Calidad and a semifinalist of the FilmakerHub International Feature Film Contest 2020. He was one of the screenwriters of the ensemble film Cuentos de un día más, under the general coordination by Fernando Pérez, released in 2022.
