Reza Salsany was born in Tehran, Iran. At the age of sixteen, he joined Youth Cinema Society and studied Cinematography and Filmmaking. He made several 8mm and 16mm short films which some of them won festival prizes in Iran. At the age of twenty, he worked as an assistant director in a feature film by late Director Partov Eshragh. Then in 1994 in Tehran joined Art University and studied filmmaking. He worked several years as TV series editor for Iran's national TV like "Till Tomorrow" and "The Lost Paradise" along with Director Kamran Ghadakchian. He is known for his documentary film "The Astrolabe Documentary" and "Daroopakhsh". In 1999 he moved to Canada and continued his Film Directing studies.
