Andrew Polyviou

Andrew Polyviou was born in Tottenham, London, United Kingdom, to parents of Greek Cypriot descent. Although he often played the lead role in many school theater productions, Andrew decided to follow his artistic nature of design by attending the University of Hertfordshire, graduating with an Honorary Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2006. In 2008, Polyviou further qualified himself to become a school teacher and started his post teaching A-Level Photography in a north London secondary school. From this moment on, Andrew enjoyed a successful career in teaching, as well as being an independent artist and photographer. In 2014, Andrew Polyviou was diagnosed with a life threatening cancer, but thanks to a fantastic team of doctors at the University College London Hospital, he successfully overcame it and continued his career as a teacher and an artist. Since returning to work, Andrew had a spiritual awakening, where he rediscovered his love for acting and film making, bringing 'Film Skool' to his students. In three years, Andrew helped to produce 21 short movies, all of which, have been premiered at the Curzon Cinema in Mayfair, London. It was here, where he was spotted by award winning director, Monshur Alam, who is responsible for casting Andrew as the main lead in the 2018 movie, 'The Barbershop'.
