Niyantha Shekar

Niyantha Shekar is a filmmaker and writer who's directed and produced independent documentaries as well as commercials and docs for brands like Google, Disney, Red Bull, BIBA, Manchester City and Smashbox. His short documentary Raqs-e-Inquilab (Art in a Time of Conflict) on the role of art in conflict-ridden Kashmir premiered at the South Asian Short Film Festival and has been picked for worldwide distribution by Journeyman Pictures. His short documentary on the ice-workers of Mumbai - Baraf - was selected by National Geographic for their Short Film Showcase and was nominated for Best Film, Best Director and Best Editor at the Critics Choice Short Film Awards.
