Sasha has always been immersed in a culture that celebrates dance, song and dreaming. This lifestyle had her continuously surrounded with creativity from a young age. She was able to express her identity through her creativity. Her passion for storytelling was sparked through the way a photographer can evoke a tale through a single image. Sasha spends her time learning about the stories people want to share and helps them to express their creativity and culture with the world. Sasha is the proud descendant of May Hunt (the first Indigenous woman to break in horses), born on Darumbal country and has been educated and raised in Kabi Kabi ways. She fondly remembers her Nanna telling her that her blonde hair was due to the family running low on ochre before she was born. She has a Bachelors of Creative Industries through USC where she was credited as both director and producer for her award winning film Fallen (2019). Sasha's credits extend to being a writer, producer and director of THUMP's music video Shake It, which was awarded a yewwy in the inaugural Sunny Coast Showdown, an attachment editor for Burrumbi Kids (screening on NITV in 2022), and in 2022 is directing a documentary titled We Are One to educate people on the stories of the First XI and shed light on cricketing for mob in Australia. In 2021 Sasha was placed in the Courier mails Sunshine Coast most influential 30 under 30s. When not working on film projects or photographing Sasha can be found in the local community planning and organising Wan'diny's NAIDOC events.
