Originally from Birmingham, Alabama, Janet studied theatre at Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri, graduating with a BA in Fine Arts. She began her professional acting career in Atlanta, Georgia, as a star performer at the "Wit's End Cabaret Theater". She starred in musicals and plays with the Alliance Theatre, and Theatre Under the Stars, and the Horizon Theater, including Promises, Promises, and Norman is That You? While living in Los Angeles, She worked in radio, movies, and television, with guest starring roles on the Bob Newhart Show, WKRP in Cincinnati, The Dukes of Hazard, The Tony Randall Show and more. Movie credits include Being There, The God's Must Be Crazy, Premature, and the American Version of Little Britain. She performed at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, and did comedy improvisation and stand-up at the Comedy Store and the L.A. Improv. Since 1986, Janet has been teaching comedy improv and voice-over technique, leading improv workshops for actors, entertainment functions, team-building for corporations, and in-home parties. In recent years, Janet has crafted original one-woman shows, a mixture of biographical short stories, classic cabaret bits, and insightful stand up on current issues.
