Mickey Skizz is an American singer/songwriter and actor, born in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up in Plover, WI where he attended Stevens Point Area Senior High (SPASH), and was a freestyle state wrestling champion. He then attended college at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay where, while pursuing a biology degree, he began his music career by performing in clubs around the state and soon, throughout the country. After finishing college, he enlisted in the army where after completing airborne school, he was selected for the elite Army Rangers, and then 20th Special Forces Group where he would eventually retire from the military. In 2002, he released his first single "Holding Out For You" and in 2006 was named by 11th Hour magazine as their Male Vocalist of the year. In 2012 he was diagnosed with End Stage Kidney Disease (forcing his retirement from the military), and would receive a transplant with a kidney donated by his sister in 2016. After a long and difficult recovery, he expanded his performing career into acting. In 2017, he appeared in the feature films "15:17 To Paris" and "The Front Runner", as well as the TV series "Valor", "Snapped", and "Murder Comes to Town". Mickey is a strong advocate for veterans' issues and organ donation. He is also the nephew of Alaska's Hobo Jim, the official state Balladeer of the state of Alaska.
