Laura is a producer and journalist, most recently with The New York Time's Opinion Video team, where she works on all aspects of production and publishing. Previously, Laura held the same role with Fusion TV's investigative unit, which produced the documentary series "The Naked Truth" (available on Netflix). With the unit, Laura worked on several long-form documentaries, including Dirty Little Secrets, the only American English-language televised investigation into the Panama Papers leak; ISIS Fighters, a look a westerners joining Kurdish militias fighting against ISIS in Syria; Rigged, a documentary and digital interactive exploring the impacts of gerrymandering on American democracy; Numbers Game, a deep-dive investigation into the pitfalls of policing data in America; Debt Trap, a look at the student debt crisis looming over America; and Wasteland, which traces Scott Pruitt's environmental record in Oklahoma (the project was a Livingston Award finalist). During the 2016 election cycle, Laura reported on Paul Manafort's Ukrainian ties for Fusion digital. Laura also produced short segments for Fusion's magazine shows, including a special that followed Parkland students who traveled to DC for the March for our Lives. With a background in international affairs and government, her passion lies in telling stories about how these two things affect communities and people's lives on a daily basis. A Miami native who's passionate about social justice, Laura runs on coffee and good tips.
