Denis Lépine is a French Canadian director-producer of televised programs and special projects with 34 years of experience in advertising and broadcasting. His career path has kept him working primarily in Montreal where he worked on several high caliber programs such as the Olympic Games in Barcelona and Lillehammer, IndyCart and Formula 1 racing, as well as NHL hockey, advertising campaigns, national news broadcasts, and various other television shows in Canada. Denis was behind the creation and production of the most highly-acclaimed sound and light show ever to be produced in North America, And Then There was Light, presented at Montreal's Notre-Dame Basilica from 2001 to 2014. The show was seen by more than 950,000 spectators from all around the world. Furthermore, Denis developed and produced the documentary film SOS Richelieu. The film pays tribute to the biggest gathering of volunteers ever assembled in the history of Québec when in the spring of 2011; both the Richelieu River and Lake Champlain overflowed causing heaving flooding in the area. From 2008 to 2011, Denis reported on the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a United Nations institution entrusted with promoting responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism, as well as the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC). Then, from 2012 to 2017, Denis directed one of Quebec's most popular game shows: Le TRICHEUR. For the past two years, and with the support of the United Nations (UNEP), Denis has been developing a annual television event to help accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy. The year-end televised event is an annual review of how the climate crisis is evolving and will feature agriculture, transportation, science, economy, energy and human behaviour.
