Euphrosyne Doxiadis

Euphrosyne Konstantinu Doxiadis is a Greek artist and writer. She was born in Athens (April 19, 1946). She studied art in Salzburg at Oskar Kokoschka's 'School of Seeing', at the Slade School of Fine Art in London, at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, and at the Wimbledon School of Art in London. In 1968, Doxiadis married Yanni Alexis Mardas, also known as Magic Alex, and had two children with him. She devoted her time to being a mother, postponing any work or studies outside of the home from 1969 until 1986. In 1995, she published a book on titled The Mysterious Fayum Portraits: Faces from Ancient Egypt.
